The Empire of Lucite is a nation on PCB. It is rather large, consisting of many cities.

Lucite was founded by jmvvana and KingJohn/Morpheus/KingOfSweden/ after the Budapest Pact of September 2015. Nations prior to Lucite were largely unorganized and almost completely demilitarized. Lucite was a group of cities under a single flag, each city giving one (usually the mayor) representative to the Congress of Lucite. The first president was elected days after Lucite's creation with jmvvana at the helm. Everyone in congress had equal power, and a vote required a majority to pass. The president served as moderator of the meetings and had no special powers.

Lucite went to war with several nations but it's conflict with Greenville is most notable. At this time, nations and cities began massing weapons together and using them in wars. The Greenville War is commonly seen as PCB's most major war, as most nations fought in it. After this war, Lucite went under minor reforms, removing the President position and replacing it with the Prime Minister position. Claudia was elected as the first Prime Minister of Lucite and served several months until jmvvana was once again elected.

At its founding, the country was a group of cities under a single flag, with each city presenting one representative (typically the mayors of said cities), to the Congress of Lucite. Each member of Congress had equal voting power, and each bill presented for debate required a simple majority to pass. The President of Lucite served as the moderator for proceedings and had no additional, special powers among the rest of the legislative assembly. Under this system, Lucite rapidly expanded, and its influence grew exponentially.
 
Congressional meetings were held often, and the sharing of ideas and passing legislation occurred often. In this time, the Lucitian presence on the Alga Sea—the first idea of national claims through the construction of fortresses and small cities in strategic locations. In this time as well, diplomatic relations were created with some of the first nations and cities, such as Freehold.
 
Lucite went to war with many nations over its history, but among the most notable was the Greenville War, often colloquially called "the First World War of PCB." It was in this intense war-period that cities began to mass weapons together and use them in wars. Following an allied victory against Greenville, the executive office of Lucite was restructured, with the Presidency being scrapped and replaced with a Prime Ministry. Claudia, the representative and founder of Clarita, was elected to serve as the first Prime Minister, and Congress became Parliament.
 
A few months following the end of the Greenville War, Lucite and the State of Qatar entered a period of Cold War. Following the revelation that Qatar used several members of the Lucitian Parliament to infiltrate and undermine the state, seeking its collapse; many nations ceased operations out of a fear of banishment, including Lucite itself. Many reforms were thereafter taken, and, after several stagnant months, Lucite returned to full operations with a newly-elected Prime Minister Jmvvana at the helm. At this point in its national history, countless cities and other nations were absorbed, leading to the creation of a massive military that dwarfed all other nations combined.
 
The Republic of Lucite would come to an end in-name-only following the merger of the UAE and Lucite into the Lucite Empire, which was comprised of two factions, the Confederacy (western portions of Lucite, under the rule of KingJohn and the Imperial Family of Hanson), and the Union (eastern portions of Lucite, under the rule of Prime Minister Jmvvana). Tensions of governance arose between these two factions over a period of several months, leading to KingJohn's Rose Act, a formal secession proclamation. The signing of the document has been marked as the beginning of the Lucitian Civil War.
== Interbellum ==
At the beginning of the Civil War, the Unionists held the advantage, with a majority of cities choosing to remain on the side of Budapest. In the Confederate portion of the Empire, with a government based in New Hanson, there existed merely a fleeting position of power.
 
Over the period of a few weeks, the following events occurred:
* Jakegrad experienced systematic, ideological change that led to its abandonment of the Confederacy and loyalty proclamation to the Union.
* Following the example of the City of Jakegrad, many Confederate cities return to the Union or declare total independence or neutrality in the matters, leaving only the confederate capital, New Hanson, and Dubai
* The City of Dubai declares neutrality in all matters, effectively guaranteeing the victory of the Budapest faction.
* KingJohn is banished. New Hanson falls inactive in this banishment period, and the Unionists effectively become the empire-in-totality.
Following the Civil War, the PCB Administration, after discussion on a forums post evaluating the rules of nations and wars, decided to outright ban wars entirely. Hence, this was the last major conflict that involved destruction of buildings and military equipment between nations. This was not, however, the end of cold wars and high tensions between differing states, which filled the void of major conflict.
 
The Civil War ultimately brought an end to the dual-government system of Lucite and most of its democratic policies. Major reforms occurred following the Budapest faction victory.

Following the Lucitian Civil War and the Unionist Victory, elections were halted, major infrastructural and governmental building improvements were achieved, and Prime Minister Jmvvana was declared Emperor, with EstevaoBuilder serving as Consul. Once again, the world was unbalanced in a unipolar system favoring Lucite.
 
Among the Governmental Building improvements was the creation of the Reichstag building in Budapest, a building which has become featured in the Monarch map. The Reichstag was built by Estevaobuilder, Leobhz, tuzao, jmvvana, and several other helping.
 
To continue expansionist idealism, Emperor Joseph and Consul Estevao wrote a crucial document called Project Radix. Towns and cities, forts, missile bases, naval coalitions, fighter squadrons, tank divisions, were all created as a result of this document, as well as the extension of JMVRail.
 
In a new era of Cold Wars, Lucite began to see neighboring states, such as Apex, a nation with cities on the Alga Sea, as potential threats to their hegemony. Following the proclamation of the Republic of Bayonne and thus freedom of Freehold from Apex, Lucite declared itself the victors and established the Alga Sea Treaty Organization (ASTO) to prevent future conflict. Tensions remained high among most nations in a system of forced rivalry, but none could go to war. Thus defense treaties and land claiming seemed the most effective way of setting borders and demarcation zones. More cold wars would follow the Apexo-Lucitian conflict, such as the cold war with [[Lunden]] on the [[Belport Sea]] where a massive military presence was established in [[New Concordia]] by the Emperor and the Imperial Admiral, Ryicidal. The final cold war was the three-way cold war with [[Volare]] and [[Neo-Canada]], notably ending on 4/20. The Demilitarized Zone between the walls constructed outside of [[Konin]], [[Portland]] and Volare was quickly overgrown with fields of marijuana, and tanks were left immobilized among the fields.

At the end of the 1.8 Creative Map, Lucite remained the largest nation by size, member count, city count, presence, and military structure. Despite its controversial standing, the actions of Lucite inspired the operations of nations in the future, as well as led to the administration to create rules to address and limit conflict between nations, leading to a statement on a forum post by Lucite's long-lasting leader, Jmvvana (Joe), that ''"...nations don't have power over anyone, they are to be like a sticker or a fancy hat you can wear."''
 
Lucite was officially and permanently disbanded with the end of the map, though, its legacy provides both an insight on the limitations of nations, as well as a goal for the creation of a similar community for many seeking to create nations in the future.

The Lucite Empire was divided in two, the Union of Lucite led by jmvvana as Prime Minister controlled the East and much of the PCB Map while the Confederacy of Lucite led by King John (ImAMemer) controlled the West. Tensions between the two parties rose steeply in the coming months, and KingJohn wrote the Rose Act, ceceding the Confederacy from the Union. The last war held on PCB before their banning was the Lucite Civil War. Union forces controlled most of the Map, with the Confederate Royal Forces controlling cities like [[New Hanson]], Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Jakegrad and others. The communist city of Jakegrad converted to a capitalist system and deserted the Confederacy in favor of the Union. Many cities followed, leaving Dubai and [[New Hanson]], the Confederate Capital. After several tense days, Vexnorz of Dubai pledged neutrality, edging the war in the Union's favor. KingJohn was banned soon after the war ended, leaving the Lucite Union the sole power of the world once again. Lucite effectively controlled most of the map and most of its major cities. After the Lucitian Civil War, Lucite reformed its government again, stopping most elections and building new parliament buildings and infrastructure. Apex, with cities such as Axiom and Freehold was created. Several of Apex's cities were on the [[Alga Sea]], which was a major threat to Lucite's Capital, [[Budapest]]. A cold war ensued, leaving Lucite as the winner. Freehold ceceded from Apex and created Bayonne. To prevent future conflicts on the [[Alga Sea]], Lucite and Bayonne created ASTO, the Alga Sea Treaty Organization. More cold wars followed, such as the cold war with [[Lunden]] on the Belport Sea and the cold war with Volare. Lucite is currently the largest nation by member count and military size.
"[[The New Lucite]]" is not recognized by jmvvana or other Lucitian officials as a successor state to the original Lucite, and it is seen as a pretender state. Due to the Lucitian Civil War, in which the Union defeated the Confederacy, former Confederate members have no claim to the succession of Lucite.
