Lunden was founded on the Belport Sea by Silverhawk, a former adversary of Lucite. The city encroached on the claims of jmvvana's Belport. Silverhawk did not want the start of his city to be relocated, so jmvvana allowed the city to remain on the condition that it join Lucite as a Protectorate. The city would be allowed some autonomy, but must obey the claims and stipulations of Lucite. The Protectorate had to fly the Lucite flag, and swear allegiance in the halls of the Lucitian Reichstag. As the construction and adoption of the city coincided with Lucite's infamous Project Radix, Lunden is considered as part of the project. Several weeks later, the Protectorate of Lunden attempted to declare independence, prompting the construction of a massive Belport Sea Fleet at New Concordia. Lucitian ships blanketed the Belport Sea, many of which were notably named after musicians from the band "Nirvana". The construction of the fleet, and pressure from Lucite eventually prompted a redaction of calls for independence, and an end to the Cold War. Lunden remained as a territory of Lucite.
