The United Republic of Corallium (URC), commonly known as the United Republic (U.R. or UR) or Corallium, is a nation located within the Creative 1.15 map. The nation was founded in June 2020 as the Kingdom of Corallium, and the first election returned Joseph Vanacore (jmvvana) as the President, and Matthew Corallis (NoMalarkey) as the Prime Minister. While there were plans for organization through the writing of a constitution, no such plans were carried out and the nation remained largely inactive until December 2020.

December 2020, which marked the end of the first 6-month Presidential term, saw the second election which returned Matthew Corallis (NoMalarkey) as the President, and Andrew Ryams (Andre_Dre) as the Prime Minister. The new administration is yet to be sworn in, and the inauguration date has been set for a time in December.

History

Corallium was founded three times, once by proclamation of Joseph Vanacore (jmvvana) as the 'Republica Corallium', another through the merger of NoMalarkey's nation of Tarlia, subsequently leading to the coronation of Joseph Vanacore, as the 'Kingdom of Corallium', and lastly by Matthew Corallis' (NoMalarkey) 'Petition for Democracy', which was agreed by the reigning Joseph I, leading to the transformation of the Kingdom of Corallium into the current United Republic of Corallium.

Named for the Coral Sea that most of the nation's claims laid on, Corallium was meant to establish a maritime superstate, in which a capital would be based on the Island of Prima. Following the belief by EstevaoBuilder, Leobhz, Tuzao, and Jmvvana that Prima could not sustain a major city, a new location on the mouth of the Abbaccus River was chosen, and the city would become known as Albadia. Jmvvana intended to serve as 'President for Life' in the Republica Corallium, however would become a Monarch after the annexation of the nation of Tarlia into the new Kingdom of Corallium.

Jmvvana was coronated as the first King of Corallium in the Cathedral of Albadia. The official state religion is Borborism. Moments later, he called to council the first Assembly of the Crown, in which the members present had chosen Democratist Party Candidate, Matthew Corallis (NoMalarkey), as the first Prime Minister. Jmvvana also declared EstevaoBuilder, by the right of the crown, Prince of Albadia and heir to the throne. Under the reign of Joseph I, Corallium would focus its growth around the capital and Abbaccus River, though work slowed, and eventually halted.

As Prime Minister, Matthew Corallis' (NoMalarkey) first act was to gather the Assembly once more, and form a set constitution. While an official document was never signed nor declared, a doctrine of listening to the ideas of all the people who joined the Kingdom, was generally accepted, and the Kingdom was regarded as a Constitutional Monarchy. After the nation had fallen relatively quiet, and all building efforts relatively stopped, Prime Minister Corallis and his Democratist Party, including prominent members such as Andrew Ryams (Andre_Dre), had written the 'Petition for Democracy', to King Joseph I, in an attempt to revitalize and re-incentivize the nation, giving all people a larger role in the building efforts. The petition was accepted on the promise that Matthew Corallis would not run for the Presidency in the first Presidential Election, thus allowing the former King Joseph to become the first President of the newly formed United Republic of Corallium. The Presidential election of June, 2020, officially elected Joseph Vanacore as the first President of the United Republic of Corallium, and Matthew Corallis as the first Prime Minister both running unopposed.

Under the Presidency of Joseph Vanacore, the Abbaccus River building effort was completed, however a formal navy or military was never built.

Following a period of inactivity in the nation, activity soared as the Corallish people gathered in the Presidential election of December, 2020, and elected Matthew Corallis and Andrew Ryams, who joined the Democratist ticket of Candidate Corallis, as President, and Prime Minister, respectively. With a vote of 7-4, Matthew Corallis was declared the President-elect of Corallium on December 1st, 2020, and formed the Corallis-Ryams Transition Team, hiring Travis Wellington (_Travis) as Transition Manager, and later nominating him as Secretary of State-Designate. President-elect Corallis would also make plans for nominating former President Joseph Vanacore as Secretary of Defense-Designate, _ColinH as Secretary of Health & Human Services and Secretary of Education, and Buns100 as an Admiral of the Navy. All are expected to take office December 19th, 2020.

The Corallis-Ryams Administration is expected to create the nation's first Constitution, and to reform the Corallish government. The transition team has yet to release their formal documents on the matter.

Organization

The United Republic of Corallium is a Presidential republic, with the President acting as the head of state. Currently, the Prime Minister serves as the head of government, however this is expected to change as the new administration takes office. The United Republic consists of several states, each headed by a Governor. The President also appoints a cabinet to manage the affairs of the various government departments.

The incoming administration is expected to publish a manifesto outlining its plan for further expansion and the writing of a codified constitution which should make clear the proper organization of the United Republic as a matter of law, opposed to the current De Facto constitution and organization of the nation.
