NOTE: PORTLAND AND NEO-CANADA HAVE A FICTIONAL TIME AND IS CURRENTLY BASED IN 2019
The City of Portland is located in the northeast part of the creative map, it is a booming city with a population af around 2.87 Million, similar to that of Montreal And Toronto. Portland is the capitol of Neo-Canada, a nation that has a large presence in the north east part of the creative map, and smaller presences in the southern part of the map in Ashfield.
History
1736: a group of settlers from Montreal and Ottawa, found land near Lake Champlain in what is current day Vermont.
1776: The United States is born and settlers are rushed closer to the border of Quebec, but remain hidden
1793: the town population reaches about 4,000 and the settlement is names after a nearby fort; the name: Port Landing. (Landing = fort name)
1827: a fire erupts burning down 20 of the 120 buildings. killing 320 and injuring many more.
1853: the name of Port Landing is changed to Portland, and is officially crowned as a city and becomes independent from British run Canada. the population reaches 19,388
1867: Canada celebrates its confederation as a country and many residents in Portland celebrate.
1889: massive floods ravage the whole north east killing 10 and many more are lost.
1904: Portland enters a dark stage as West Portland accuses East Portland of rigging an election, through this, a civil war is made, East Portland is backed by Canada and the United States and West Portland is independent. The Population is now 139,000
FEB 23 1906: East Portland develops a very strong explosive, and seeing as the war is slowing down, the bomb is dropped on West Portland Headquarters. instantly 500 are killed and over 10,000 are injured. The Population is now at 120,000
1914: World War One begins and 4000 troops are sent from Portland to fight abroad in France, specifically Vimy Ridge. only 400 make it back home later on in 1918.
1927: The economy slowly dies out, however Portland is not effected as much as the United States or Canada. the population is 540,000
1939: World War Two begins and this time 14,000 troops are sent. however only 1500 come back alive.
1954: Portland announces it has created and successfully tested an Atomic bomb, the population is now 670,000
MAY 5 1967: Expo 67 is held in Montreal, and the current Canadian Prime Minister Lester B Pearson is leaving an event but is shot 5 times. 3 in the head and 2 in the stomach by a Portland Extremist named Marc De Champ.
Late 1967: A wall is built around Portland and is isolated from the rest of Canada, during this time the population rises to 650,000 a record high. Neo-Canada, is born.
June 1 1987: Neo-Canada is declared an official country world wide, and takes up space in Vermont, Quebec, and some parts of Maine and New Hampshire. the wall has also been taken down
1991: The Soviet Union collapses and business is usual in Neo-Canada. the population reaches 890,000
1993: Chaos ensues as the united states invades Mexico using nuclear weapons. Russia immediately reacts by turning back into the Soviet Union. a campaign is launched to destroy as many former USSR States as possible and invade, the invasion succeeds.
1995: Korea invades North Korea and a united Korea is born. China Annexes Mongolia and Vietnam. South Africa destroys Zimbabwe and a nuclear war in Africa ensues.
1997: Neo-Canada invades a Dying United States, taking Maine, Northeast Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Upstate New York. as well as Michigan.
1999: Canada annexes Oregon and declares war on the USSR, however, nothing really happens. the population is now 1.28 Million.
2001: shortly after 9/11 Britain accuses Scotland of corruption and nukes are sent across the border.
2005: Britain invades France and Portugal, Iceland develops nuclear weapons and they are sent to Denmark as a message of hate.
2007: the USSR invades china and turkey, millions are dead and the middle east unites as one. the population is now 1.5 Million
2011: a package explodes in London releasing Anthrax across the city, hundred of thousands die and the attack is blamed on the United States.
2013: The United states goes into a civil war, the east vs the west, the war goes nuclear and the population drastically goes down.
2014: The United states has officially collapsed, Lucite takes control. the population is now at 1.74 Million
2015: Portland Researchers find a cure for Cancer, HIV, AIDS and Alzheimer's Disease
2017: Portland's Population reaches 2 Million. the rest of Canada is 38 Million, Neo-Canada, 18.9 Million.
2019: All Is Well, Status Quo.
General Information
Districts
Portland has 17 Districts, the way the districts are layed out are by the closest major intersection, i.e Downtown is along Yonge St. However, some districts are not connected to the actual city. Some sub-cities include: Diamond Coast, Champlain Heights, and Angels Bay. all of which will have their own articles later on.
Transportation
Portland has a fully working Metro system, consisting of 18 Stations. as well as a regional rail, an RER (Regional Express Rail), Streetcar services, and a bus system, the Portland airport is still under construction,

Streetcars The Streetcar system consists of 3 Lines, The Downtown Line (E/W), The Circle Line (N/S/E/W), and the Old Town Line, (N/S). the streetcar system has always been the second most used way of transit, with an estimated 100,000 riders per day.
RER (Park Line) Although the RER is a metro line, it also substitutes as an express rail from Dawson to City central. it is used by about 50,000 people per day.
Commuter Rail Portland Transit runs commuter rail and almost all other forms of public transit. the commuter rail lines are still being built but are planned to go from Konin to City Central, and from Diamond Coast to City Central. as well as a line from Uptown to City Central.

Portland's Population is about 2,638,172 People. the population of the city is: French Canadian: 57% First Nations/Aboriginal 23% American: 15% Other: 5%
