The City of Portland (Portland) is located in the northeast part of the creative map. Fictionally, it has a population of 2.87 Million, similar to that of Montreal and Toronto. Portland is the capital of Neo-Canada, a nation that has a large presence in the northeast part of the creative map, and smaller presences in the southern part of the map in Ashfield.
Fictional History
Early history
In 1736, a group of settlers from Montreal and Ottawa found land near Lake Champlain in what is current-day Vermont. After the United States was born in 1776, the settlers were rushed closer to the border of Quebec but did not get attention even after it's population reached 4000 in 1793. The settlement was then named Port Landing, after the name of a fort. In 1827 an inferno erupted, burning down 20 of the 120 buildings. killing 320. The settlement was renamed Portland in 1853, and was officially crowned as a city, and became independent from British run Canada, with the population reaching 19,388.
Civil war
In 1904, Portland entered a civil war after accusations of rigged elections arose. East Portland was supported by Canada and the United States, with West Portland declaring independence. On Feburary 23, 1906, East Portland developed a strong explosive, and a target was chosen. This was used to end the war quickly against West Portland.

Streetcars
The Streetcar system consists of 3 Lines, The Downtown Line (E/W), The Circle Line (N/S/E/W), and the Old Town Line, (N/S). the streetcar system has always been the second most used way of transit, with an estimated 100,000 riders per day.
RER (Park Line) Although the RER is a metro line, it also substitutes as an express rail from Dawson to City central. it is used by about 50,000 people per day.
Commuter Rail Portland Transit runs commuter rail and almost all other forms of public transit. the commuter rail lines are still being built but are planned to go from Konin to City Central, and from Diamond Coast to City Central. as well as a line from Uptown to City Central.
